Cassiope Sydoriak completed her BA in Art History and Anthropology with a minor in Italian at the University of Colorado at Boulder (with a year abroad in Florence, Italy) on a prestigious scholarship from the Boettcher Foundation. She later worked at the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District, the Boettcher Foundation, the Dairy Center for the Arts, and served on the Board of BikeDenver.

In 2012 she received a Masters degree in History of Art from the University of Oxford under the supervision of Dr Hanneke Grootenboer, with a thesis titled “The Autonomous Digital Image: An Investigation of Independence in Virtual Art Collections.”

Also in 2012, she co-founded the Broken Spoke Bike Co-op, a social enterprise in Oxford, UK, and acted as its Executive Director until September 2014. In 2013 they were awarded the Oxford Brookes Social Entrepreneurship Award, and were shortlisted for the OCVA Best New Group. Cassiope received the University’s first Graduate Entrepreneurial Visa in support of this enterprise.

From 2015-16, Cassiope worked at WhistlePig Whiskey, the world’s highest rated producer of Rye. Consequently, brand development (and delicious high-end adult beverages) became one of Cassiope’s favorite pursuits.

Cassiope is also passionate about the performing arts, and she is on the Board of Directors of Superhero Clubhouse and volunteers at The Tank. She can often be found behind the scenes as a Production Stage Manager at Off-Off-Broadway experimental theater. She is a seasoned teacher and performer of Lindy hop, Charleston, solo jazz, and blues, having performed with the Hotfoot Strutters in London, been an extra in Guinness commercial about John Hammond, and co-organised the first Oxford Swing Festival and Oxford Summer Blues. Find her on the dance floor!

In August 2018 Cassiope will be pursuing an MBA at Cornell Johnson on a Forte Foundation Fellowship.
